ENG4U is a senior high school English course designed to consolidate and extend students’ literacy, communication, and critical/creative thinking skills.
Students will:
• analyse a wide range of literary, informational, and graphic texts from various cultures and time periods,
• interpret and evaluate meaning, style, and purpose in texts,
• create oral, written, and media texts for different purposes and audiences, and
• refine reading, writing, and communication strategies for university and beyond.
The emphasis in this course is on the confident use of academic language, strategic reading, thoughtful analysis, and improved writing control.
